At the end of each calendar year, unused accrued vacation hours will be carried over. In the event an Employee has unused accrued vacation time equivalent to one- and one-half times (150%) the annual amount they are entitled to, vacation days shall be capped and cease to accrue until such time that the unused and accrued vacation days fall below such amount. For example, if an employee is allowed 10 days of vacation (80 hours), they will stop accruing once their unused balance reaches 15 days (120 hours). Once accruals restart, accruals will not be retroactive.
All Exempt Full-Time Employees may take vacation in 4-hour to full-day increments.
All Non-Exempt Employees may take vacation in the smallest increment the payroll system will allow.
Employees are not permitted to perform work during such vacation time, regardless if such work is
performed voluntarily.
Vacation time does not count as “hours worked” for purposes of calculating a Non-Exempt Employee’s entitlement to overtime during the week in which the vacation time is used.
Vacation time does not accrue during most leaves of absence. Employees will be required to use available unused accrued vacation time prior to requesting or taking unpaid time off to the extent permitted by federal, state, or local law.
Employees eligible for vacation are entitled to compensation for accrued and unused vacation time upon separation of employment.
