PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Employees should refrain from bringing excessive personal property (including valuables and collectible items) to the office or onto University property. Although Employees may be provided a workspace for the convenience of the Employee while at work, workspaces provided by the University should not be relied upon as a safe place to store personal property. The University cannot be responsible for personal items brought to or left in the workplace that may be lost, stolen, or damaged. While both building management and the University stress security, to all its employees, each individual is responsible for the prevention of loss of personal items.

The University’s workplace insurance policy covers only loss due to fire or theft of items necessary to the conduct of its business. The loss of personal property or cash is not covered.
