NONDISCRIMINATION AND AFFIRMATIVE ACTION POLICY

AUHS, in accordance with applicable Federal and State Laws and University Policies, does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, pregnancy (including pregnancy, childbirth, post- partum period and medical conditions related to pregnancy and childbirth), disability, age, medical condition (cancer- related), ancestry, marital status, citizenship, sexual orientation, or status as a Vietnam-era veteran or special disabled veteran. The University also prohibits sexual harassment. This nondiscrimination policy covers admission, access, and treatment in University programs and activities.

The University Provost/Chief Academic Program is the coordinator of Title IX-the Educational Amendments Act of 1972, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance. All inquiries or complaints under the sex discrimination provisions of Title IX should be directed to the University Provost. The University Provost/Chief Academic Program must act equitably and promptly to resolve complaints and should provide a response within seven working days. Inquiries regarding the University’s student-related nondiscrimination policies may be directed to the Office of the Student Services.
