Clinical/Experiential Guidelines
These guidelines have been developed to promote consistency among clinical/experiential sites. You are the ambassador for our school at the clinical site and are expected to be professional and represent us well at all times.
These guidelines have been developed to promote consistency among clinical/experiential sites. You are the ambassador for our school at the clinical site and are expected to be professional and represent us well at all times.
1. Clinical affiliation sites must have signed affiliation contracts and approved Clinical Facility by program accrediting or approving agencies (if required).
2. Embody professionalism, competence, and integrity as ambassadors for AUHS to all clinical affiliation sites. We are guests of all clinical affiliation site facilities.
3. Throughout each term, the Clinical/Experiential Coordinator and/or Assistant Dean/program administrator or other representative from the University make random visits to clinical/experiential sites in order to facilitate relationships with the facilities and check for consistency of clinical rotations. These visits may occur on any day or any time.
4. Clinical Instructor must inform the program dean, directors or assistant directors, Clinical Coordinators, program coordinators, and clinical affiliation sites key contacts when and if the following occur:
a. Cancellation of clinical
b. Substitution in clinical assignments
c. Incidents at clinical sites involving patients, students, staff, etc. (MUST complete Incident Report Form within 48 hours and submit to Program Dean and Student Affairs office)
d. Other incidents relative to safety or non-compliance with AUHS and clinical facility sites policies
5. Simulation Clinical instructions must be completed in accordance with required hours and competencies
