Curriculum
It has been said many a time that the ‘faculty own the curriculum’. As faculty members it is your primary responsibility to be responsible for the quality of the curriculum and the programs that you are in charge of. This means that you need to be familiar with the curriculum of the program(s) you are associated with along with the courses that you teach. Being familiar with the curriculum means that you are also aware of how the program is threaded, how the program meets set standards, assessment, quality outcomes, course objects etc. Please note that “owning the curriculum” comes with certain responsibilities and duties. You must follow the processes in place in order to make changes to existing curriculum; however your recommended changes are welcomed and commended.
The following process are followed for curriculum changes:
- Discussion during general faculty meeting
- School curriculum committee
- Faculty Senate
- President’s Council
