Conduct Code & Dress Code


Our goal at the university is to set examples for our students who must also maintain a designated dress code.  Your role as a faculty member is to be a professional role model for the student, understand the student dress code and enforce the dress code for security reasons.

At clinical sites, our faculty is expected to comply with the following:

1. Dress in a clean professional uniforms and lab coats and are expected to adhere to all clinical/experiential site policies and procedures.

a. Expected dress code while teaching is business attire, or business casual with white lab coats.

b. Flip-flops, sandals, shorts, jeans and similar items are not considered professional attire and as such are not tolerated.

2. Wear your AUHS faculty ID card and the ID card issued by the facility (if applicable).

3. Clinical site facilities may have specific rules about your expected dress code while at their facility.  For further information, see your faculty mentor or program dean.
