American University of Health Sciences organization structures defines a hierarchical model. While this model has provided operational effectiveness and efficiency, a culture of collaborative relationships between lines of authority has been established and refined as evidenced by the University Decision Making Process. At the University level, there are 3 main councils that are related to the governance of the University namely: 1) President’s Advisory Council, 2) Strategic Planning Council, 3) Faculty Senate. There are two University committees namely: 1) University Systematic Evaluation and Assessment Committee (SEAC), 2) University Advisory Board. Attachment 1 (See attachment) provides the AUHS organizational chart. Figure 2 provides a diagram of organizational infrastructure per school. Figure 3 provides the elements and flowchart of the decision-making process.
